HomeIf you are traveling to Las Vegas, you can find some great deals on hotels directly on the strip. With the slowdown in the US economy starting in September of 2008, there are even some offers of free hotel rooms if you're looking to stay from a Sunday to a Wednesday.
Now if you are a frequent traveler to Las Vegas, you surely have signed up with a rewards program for a Casino. A rewards program offers great deals to people who play a lot of blackjack, craps or any other popular house game. You collect points and can use those points to get outstanding deals on Vegas Hotels.
Personally I don't mind staying just one or two hotels off the strip, because who stays in their hotel room anyway? If you opt for a hotel just right off the strip, I think the Westin offers great deals and rates. Their rooms are designed for busines travelers and the beds are extra comfortable. One other huge factor is that the lobby is not huge, you can walk right in and go to the elevator bank which is a huge time savings, especially if you've ever walked all the way through the MGM Grand!
There are many other great places to stay on the south end of the strip. The Luxor is a great hotel that looks like the Great Pyramid in Egypt. There is also the Excalibur, which has a Disneyesque theme and is fun for the kids, though the interior design of the place is definitely from the late 70's early 80's.
The north end of the Strip has even better deals, Circus Circus has great room rates and the Stratosphere has some of the best deals considering it is so far off the strip.
